I have quite a few fantastic friends that I only see every so often (or that I haven’t even met in person yet- *cough* …you know who you are), but I’m just one of those people that really needs someone physically there for them.

And I think that when God made me, He was fully aware of the fact that I would be a completely and totally ridiculous person nearly always on the verge of the cliffs of insanity.

So He gave me these amazing friends that don’t mind.

So to those certain friends that have dealt with my multiplied strangeness lately…

Dear future Gilbert Blythe.

I kind of skipped the princess phase of my life. I was the kind of eight year old who’s best friend was a boy and who had things such as slingshots and pocketknives on their birthday wish list.

I believed in fairy tales, but mostly just the monstrous, evil dragons and brilliant luster of it all. Prince Charming had no place in the heroic battles I fought in my imagination.

But now, at the age of 15, I think I’ve finally entered the princess phase.

I wear poofy skirts and twirl around the house and throw tea parties on a whim.

I fantasize about you all the time. And I doubt you realize just how brilliant you will be to me.

Honest. You will be the smartest, most handsome, heroic person of the entire universe in my eyes. So don’t worry about that part of it.

We’ll learn how to dance.  Unless you already know how. In that case you could teach me.

We’ll stargaze out in the middle of no where.

We’ll take spontaneous trips to London, Paris, and Rome and pretend we’re high class.

I’ll teach you guitar. Unless you already know how. In that case we’ll sit out on the porch swing at night and sing to our hearts’ content.

We’ll go to a cute little church and be that adorable couple that everyone loves.

Then, one day, when we’re old, we’ll decide to paint the outside of our house in bright colors.

We’ll buy balloons just for the sake of having balloons.

I’ll be that nice lady that bakes pies and knits people bunny slippers, and you’ll be that experienced old man that kids go to for advice and bring tree house blueprints to for improvement.

We’ll be perfect together. Even when things are hard.

Evil dragons don’t stand a chance against you.

So, future Gilbert, will you be mine?

I can’t wait to meet you.

I love taking pictures of random people on the street. It’s fascinating.

I’m a creeper and I know it.

(But not really.)

I wonder what it would be like to be Superman and hear all the things going on around you clearly.

Or to be able to know someone’s story just by seeing their face…

I’m glad we don’t have that ability.

It would make the world a dreadfully unimaginative place.

Contrary to popular belief, I am, in fact, alive.

Very alive.

And happy.

Because, my lovelies, of something splendid that happened to me at the beginning of 2012 that I have yet to post about yet. But when I do, believe me, there will be a plethora of pictures to prove that it did indeed happen, and that it was indeed lovely beyond words.

At the moment, though, all you get is a picture of me trying to communicate through a simple facial expression my life at the moment. That and bearing a similar resemblence to that of a gopher.

One too many algebraic word problems, perhaps? I do believe it’s pushed me over the edge and I’ve gone mad. For the record, I don’t really care how many ounces of butter Theodore spreads upon his toaster waffle every morning. Nor do ever plan to in my future adulthood. But hey, dream on, Algebra.

To some people, it would just eat away at their lives, constantly telling them that their lot in life is to sit in a hospital room and pity themselves. But not to Noah. To Noah, it’s a challenge ready to be accepted. It won’t get the better of him. And by that, I don’t mean that he will never leave our world as a result of Mitochondria. I mean that he will not give in to the thought processing that many people with less of an excuse have already adopted. That there’s no point. Because whether we live our rightful amount of time on the earth or not, or whether we spend more time in a hospital bed than out with friends, either way, we mean something. It’s what we do with that something that matters.

So yes. We went out in 40 degree drizzly weather and plastered ourselves in mud then stood in front of a camera and took hundreds of pictures. For fun.

Guess we’re kinda strange teenagers.

When I was little, my very favorite place to be during Christmastime was curled up under the tree.  The perfect place to read the same 10 or so books that I read every single Christmas.  To count down the minutes til the 25th. To just gaze at all the memories hanging in that tree. Shiny ornaments. The ribbons. Sometimes I would spend the night under it. It was all quite magical.

I’ve decided that I don’t want to forget that.

So I still do it.

I think it’s pretty from that angle anyway.

I decorated one just for my bed room, too.

It’s our Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

The first frost this Autumn.

I love Autumn.

I love December.

I love Christmas.

I love Jesus.

I love life.

I mean, Thanksgiving is always incredible, being my favorite holiday and all, but this year it was particularly amazing.

I think the defined difference between this Thanksgiving and everyone I’ve had for the previous 15 years was the fact that I appreciated family a lot more than I ever have.

It’s not that I didn’t appreciate them before, I just had never experienced life without some of them.

Then I did.

And I was really, really lonely.

So Thanksgiving was incredible in the fact that my dear oldest sisters, Todi and Bef came home from College.

I promise, that’s Nikki on the right. But because I can’t technically post her picture online as she isn’t officially a member of the Maisano crew yet, you’ll just have to use your imagination.

I also decorated the table all pretty to match said pretty toenails.

It is for ^this reason that I am going vegetarian at some point very soon in my life. Ew.
